SOLOS Survivors Of Loved Ones to Suicide is a labor of love that was envisioned after our founder, Jennifer Cagle-Huffman, lost her precious mother to suicide in 1998.Our focus and goal at SOLOS is to help others on this very unique journey know that they are not alone. SOLOS is completely peer based, this means every member (including our volunteers) have been through the loss of a loved one to suicide. Research has proven that talking about your loss to other peers is very healing, be it in a face-to-face setting or an online forum. According to the CDC there were 41,000 deaths due to suicide in the USA alone in 2014. Through research they tell us that 115 people are directly affected when a suicide loss occurs. SOLOS hopes to reach out and support as many of those suicide loss survivors as we can through our peer based online and local suicide grief support resources. Suicide does not discriminate based on race, religion, or social status. These are our loved ones. We should not feel we are discriminated against because of the way they have died, we need to talk about it. Please know if you and your family have been touched by this very unique and tragic loss, called suicide loss, you are not alone on this journey! At SOLOS we are here to support you! We care. You are not alone! Visit www.solossupport.org
CASE ME NOW is honored to partner with SOLOS to offer beautiful, meaningful cases to support their organization.
